My name is Tujuana Hale, I am the owner of
Divine Elegance "Salon Suites", located at
1432 w. Britton Rd. OKC, Oklahoma 73114. Divine Elegance
opened it's doors Jan 2, 2001 as a sole proprietor business, but
before opening my salon, I worked at Boss Salon for over 13 years, where I
gained business experience. I decided to take a leap of faith and open my
own salon. After much prayer, business classes and searching for the perfect
location, God led me to a location that I looked at six months prior. A
friend and I came up with the name Divine Elegance which
means DIVINE =( Inspiration from God), and
ELEGANCE= class, beauty & dignity.
In our first location, it was a booth
rental salon where we leased out chairs to stylist in an open floor concept.
There were 5 stylist, a nail technician, and a massage therapist. We also had a
Boutique and Toning table. Business was great.
In 2004 I had the opportunity to relocate
to an awesome location which had semi/ private rooms, very nice at a very good
rate (favor). Again business was going well until Chesapeake brought up all the
property in the area, and I was forced to look for a new location. I searched
high & low for a location. Truly I felt like throwing in the towel
and getting me a spot just big enough for myself, but I got a word from God
"Be Still". A couple of days later I was going to the Beauty Supply
store across the street from my first salon, which had space for lease. I went
to go get space just for myself, but the FAVOR OF GOD, I now have 2,300 sf.
9 Salon Suites, 4 restrooms, kitchen
Boutique and office.
May 7,2014 we moved back home were we
originally started, but in a much larger area. I decided to go with the SALON
SUITES concept, which were in the other surrounding states, but had not
hit Oklahoma yet. SALON SUITES is the newest concept in the Salon
Industry, which allow the Beauty Professional the FREEDOM & FLEXIBILITY of
running their own independent business without the high cost of overhead,
utilities and employees. Each SUITE comes fully equipped with everything they
need to start their business.
They just bring their tools,
products and towels. With this new concept of salon ownership you get to:
* BE YOUR OWN BOSS
* DEVELOP YOUR BUSINESS IDENTITY
* DECORATE
* SET YOUR OWN PRICES & HOURS
* RETAIL YOUR OWN PRODUCT
OTHER AMENITIES:
* Free WI FI
* Cable
* Web page
* Client refferall program
The 13 1/2 years in business I had
many up & downs, getting and keeping quality people. The beauty
business has taken a big hit lately because of kitchen beautician and u-tube
and wigs. I have even felt like giving up, but quitting was not an option.
I learned a lot of hard lessons, and many Beauty Professional have come and
gone. It has made me the business owner that I am today. I than God
for the opportunity and the experience.
I look forward to the Next Level, retiring
from behind the chair and a chain of SALON SUITES...

Your Lucrative Launch LLC Mission: To equip and empower service-based business
owners to stop trading their time for money and create lucrative streams of
income that allow them to serve more people and make more money while working
less.
Having started my business with my own personal funds and
“bootstrapping” as many call it, one of my greatest challenges is cash flow.
Not having a substantial cash reserve has resulted in missed opportunities to
expand and grow the business. Also, underestimating the ebbs and flows of
business has caused stress and many sleepless nights. One may have a couple of
months that are off the charts followed by months where it feels like you can’t
pay someone to hire you.
My advice to anyone just getting started is to know your
numbers.
How much money is required to run your business on a monthly
basis based on your chosen business model?
What does it look like to generate a profit in your business
and not just break even?
How much money will you need to keep things going on the
personal side until your business starts generating a profit?
How much cash is needed in a reserve to cover your personal
needs and business operating expenses until your business starts generating a
profit?
Entrepreneurship is truly a rewarding experience for me as
it touches and impacts every single area of my life. Not only does it allow me
to add tremendous value to my clients, partners and team members, but it also
enables me to create a fulfilling life for my family. On this journey, I’ve
learned so much about who I am and who I was created to be. I’ve learned to
love and accept myself unconditionally, just the way I am.
