Week 11- Getting the Word Out

You are one week away from your official launch! How awesome is that?
You are probably filled with mixed emotions. Anxious. Excited. Nervous. Just to name a few. As you prepare for your opening, there are a few things still to tackle before opening day.

1.  Websites
Determine if you need a website, by looking at what your business offers and where your target market shops the most. It may seem out of place to think about this now, but I have found that doing websites too far in advance can cause you to lose money or waste time on creating one when you may not need it. You may be able to do just a landing page for your business grows beyond. Godaddy (www.godaddy.com) is a great place to start shopping for websites and website assistance, but make sure you read everything before you decide to venture into the website arena.
2. Preparing Marketing Materials
Prepare your business stationary, business cards, etc. If you have a logo, you will want to use it on everything.  If you don't have one, it's not too late to have one created for a low cost. All of my logos have been created using the 48 Hour Logo website (www.48hourslogo.com).  Fiverr.com is also a low-cost place to shop around for logos as well.  I have never used them, but have some business partners who have had great success with Fiverr.

3. Press releases
Press releases are awesome because they can help you spread the word about your business free of charge. Remember, when you are starting out, you want to use as little money as possible. You can typically do a press release with your local news paper.  Many journalists look for stories and appreciate those that fall into their laps.

You should be proud of yourself if you are here! One more week. Let's do it!
